Ingredients:
5 cups of flour
4 tablespoons of sugar
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup shortening
2 tablespoon of warm water
3 teaspoons of dry yeast
2 cups of buttermilk
Procedure:
1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
2. Add shortening and continue mixing until it becomes textured.
3. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add the buttermilk.
4. Combine all ingredients and fold into a stiff dough.
5. Roll into half-inch pieces on floured board.
6. Cut into 2-inch biscuits and bake on greased baking sheet for 10 minutes at 450 degrees.
Makes 60 biscuits.
